Woodbury Highway Speed E-ZPass Project Toll Reconstruction to Necessitate Toll Lane Closures at the Harriman Toll Plaza (Route 17)

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that on Monday, May 4, the reconstruction of the Harriman Toll Plaza will continue as part of the Woodbury Highway Speed E-ZPass project.

Weather permitting, toll lane number 3 northbound at Interchange 16 will be closed at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 4, for approximately two weeks to allow reconstruction of the toll lane. After work on toll lanes number 2 (previously closed on Monday, April 27), and number 3 is completed, the work will progress in other lanes.  The schedule will be announced prior to reconstruction.

This upcoming work will require the reconstruction of toll lanes at the Harriman Toll Plaza, as repairs to the pavement and toll lanes, including drainage, treadles, electronic toll collection equipment and attenuators work, are performed. The approaches and departures to the toll plaza were also milled this past week, in order to perform specified repairs to the existing underlying concrete pavement.

The Authority will activate Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM and 1610 AM in order to advise motorists of the closure.

The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding while work on this essential project takes place.
