Woodbury Highway Speed E-ZPass Project Toll Reconstruction to Necessitate Toll Lane Closures at the Harriman Toll Plaza (Route 17)

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that on Monday, April 27, the reconstruction of the Harriman Toll Plaza will begin as part of the Woodbury Highway Speed E-ZPass project.

Weather permitting, toll lane number 2 southbound at Interchange 16 will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 27, for approximately two weeks to allow reconstruction of the toll lane. One lane will remain open at all times. After work on toll lane number 2 is completed, the work will progress in other lanes.  Schedules will be announced prior to reconstruction.

This upcoming work will require the reconstruction of one toll lane at a time, including closing two lanes during non-peak hours, at the Harriman Toll Plaza, as repairs to the pavement and toll lanes, including drainage, treadles, electronic toll collection equipment and attenuators work, are performed. The approaches and departures to the toll plaza will also be milled at night starting on Monday, April 27, in order to perform specified repairs to the existing underlying concrete pavement.

The Authority will activate Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM and 1610 AM in order to advise motorists of the closure.
