Woodbury Highway Speed E-ZPass Project Toll Reconstruction to Necessitate Toll Lane Closures at the Harriman Toll Plaza (Route 17)
The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that on Monday, April 20 the reconstruction of the Harriman Toll Plaza will begin as part of the Woodbury Highway Speed E-ZPass project.
Weather permitting, toll lane number 6, northbound, will be closed at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 20 for approximately two weeks to allow for reconstruction of the toll lane. After work on lane 6 is completed, the work will progress to other lanes. Those schedules will be announced prior to reconstruction.
This upcoming work will require the reconstruction of one toll lane at a time, including closing two lanes during non-peak hours to complete the work at the Harriman Toll Plaza, as repairs to the pavement and toll lanes, including drainage, treadles, electronic toll collection equipment and attenuators work, are performed. The approaches and departures to the toll plaza will also be milled at night, in order to perform specified repairs to the existing underlying concrete pavement.
The Authority will activate Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM and 1610 AM in order to advise motorists of the closure.
The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding while work on this essential project takes place.
