Toll Lane Closures Required as Part of Woodbury Highway Speed E-ZPass Project
Northbound Wide Load Lane to be Closed for Two Weeks

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, reconstruction of the two right-most northbound toll lanes at the Woodbury Toll Barrier will begin.  This work is being done as part of the Woodbury Highway Speed E-ZPass project.

Weather permitting, the dedicated northbound entry toll lane from the Harriman Toll Plaza and the adjacent toll lane 1 will be closed to all traffic beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2, for approximately two weeks.  During this time, northbound traffic entering the Thruway from the Harriman Toll Plaza will be shifted to the left to utilize toll lane 2.  This configuration will temporarily eliminate the wide load lane for northbound traffic at the Woodbury Toll Barrier.

After work on these two northbound lanes is completed, work will progress in the other lanes.  Prior to the work beginning in the other lanes, the Authority will make the appropriate notifications.

Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM will be activated to notify motorists of the closure.

The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding while this essential work takes place.
