Thruway Authority Announces Woodbury Mobility Improvement Project To Necessitate Lane Closure Near the Woodbury Toll Barrier
Brief Traffic Stoppages Anticipated
The New York State Thruway Authority announces that the left southbound lane near the Woodbury Toll Barrier will be closed overnight beginning on Wednesday, September 12, to place a Dynamic Message Sign structure over the southbound lanes located approximately five miles north of the Woodbury Toll Barrier, weather permitting.
The lane closure will be in effect on Wednesday, September 12 from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. It is anticipated that two traffic stoppages of approximately 10 minutes each in both the northbound and southbound lanes will result from this project.
The primary purpose for the Woodbury Mobility Improvement Project is to implement Highway Speed E-ZPass, which will improve traffic operations at the Woodbury Toll Barrier, Thruway mainline and ramps of Interchange 16 (Harriman, Route 17, US 6).
The Authority has activated its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) to advise motorists of the work being conducted as part of this project.
The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding while this essential work takes place.
