Thruway Authority Announces Pavement Repairs on I-95 to Necessitate Lane Closures – Updated Schedule
Motorists May Experience Heavy Delays & Should Follow Detour Routes
The New York State Thruway Authority today announced pavement repairs will take place on I-95 southbound beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2009, weather permitting. The work was originally scheduled for Friday, November 13, however it was canceled due to the threat of inclement weather.
On Monday, November 16 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., two southbound lanes will be closed on I-95 just south of Exits18A and 18B in Mamaroneck, weather permitting.
Also, on Monday, November 16, both entry ramps from Mamaroneck Avenue northbound and southbound to I-95 southbound will be closed alternately from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. During the ramp closures, motorists destined for I-95 southbound are advised to follow the posted detour signs.
During these closures motorists may experience heavy delays and are advised to consider alternative routes. Heavy delays means motorists travel time could be delayed 20 minutes or more over normal time.
The Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM to advise motorists of the closures.
The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience while this pavement repair work takes place.
