I-90 Opened in Both Directions from Interchange 46 to the Pennsylvania State Lane
133-Mile Section of the Thruway Reopened
The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that the Thruway (I-90) is now open in both directions from Interchange 46 (Rochester, I-390, Corning) to the Pennsylvania State Line.
A 133-mile section of the Thruway System had been closed earlier this morning due to inclement weather.
The Authority had activated its Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and issued a TRANSalert to subscribers to notify motorists of the closure.
The Authority offers a free email service called TRANSalert to its customers via email or text messaging to inform them of major unscheduled incidents that may affect their travel on the Thruway. To sign up for the TRANSalert service, customers can visit the Authority's website at www.nysthruway.gov/tas/.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding during this time.
