Thruway Authority Announces Pavement Repairs Near Interchange 24 (Albany, I-90/I-87, Montreal) to Necessitate Lane Closures

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that pavement repairs will necessitate westbound lane closures near Interchange 24 (Albany I-87/I-87) beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, weather permitting.

Authority maintenance crews will be closing the left and center westbound lanes, just west of Interchange 24 between milepost 149.5 and milepost 151.0 at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. It is anticipated that the pavement repairs will be completed by 3:00 p.m. the same day.

The Authority will activate its Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and post Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) in advance of the area to provide motorists with notice of the lane closures.

Motorists are reminded to remain alert and aware of their surroundings while traveling through the work zone. Motorists should also keep in mind that speeding fines are doubled in work zones.

The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience and understanding while this necessary repair takes place.
