Thruway Authority Announces Multi-Vehicle Accident on I-87 Southbound Between Interchanges 24 and 23
Motorist May Experience Delays

The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that a multi-vehicle accident along I-87 southbound between Interchanges 24 (Albany, I-90, I87, Montreal) and 23 (Albany-Downtown, I-787, Route 9W) has the left and center lanes blocked.

State Police, maintenance and emergency personnel are on the scene at this time.

Southbound lanes will be reopened as soon as conditions safely permit. The Authority has activated its Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and Dynamic Message System (DMS) to advise motorist of the blocked lanes.

Motorists are advised to plan for delays and may wish to seek alternate routes at this time.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this time.
