Thruway Authority Announces All Lanes Closed in Both Directions Near Interchange 30 (Herkimer)
Detour Routes Established for Motorists

The New York State Thruway Authority announces that all lanes are closed in both directions at milepost 219.1 near Interchange 30 (Herkimer) due to a power pole fire. Detours have been established for motorists traveling in eastbound and westbound directions.

At this time, emergency crews are on the scene and all lanes are closed to traffic until the area can be cleared. The lanes will be reopened as soon as conditions permit.

Eastbound motorists are being directed to exit the System at Interchange 30 (Herkimer) and re-enter the System at Interchange 29A (Little Falls). Westbound motorists are being directed to exit the System at Interchange 29A (Little Falls) and re-enter the System at Interchange 30 (Herkimer).

The Authority has activated its Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) to alert motorist of the lane closures and the detours.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this incident.
