Thruway Authority Announces Speed Limit on Tappan Zee Bridge Reduced to 35 MPH
Commercial Traffic Should Seek Alternate Route

The New York State Thruway Authority announces that the speed limit on the Tappan Zee Bridge has been reduced to 35 MPH due to high winds.

Commercial vehicles are currently restricted from using the Tappan Zee Bridge and are advised to seek alternate routes.

Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) have been activated to inform motorists of the reduced speed limit and vehicle restriction on the Bridge.

The speed limit will be returned to 55 MPH as soon as conditions allow.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this time.
