Thruway Authority Announces Overhead Sign Removal to Require Lane Closures and Brief Traffic Stoppages near Interchange 7
The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that removal of the overhead sign structure, located just north of Interchange 7 (Ardsley, Route 9A), will require lane closures and brief traffic stoppages on Thursday, December 6, weather permitting.
E. Daskal Corporation will be removing an overhead sign structure at milepost 8.9, approximately one mile north of Interchange 7 (Ardsley, Route 9A). The right and center northbound lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. The work will require two brief traffic stoppages, northbound, at approximately 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. The stoppages are expected to last up to 10 minutes each.
The Authority will activate Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM to inform motorists of the lane closures and traffic stoppages. Signs alerting motorists to be prepared to stop will also be in place.
The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience while this work takes place.
