Thruway Authority Announces Restaurant Renovations to Begin at Three Travel Plazas
Restaurant, Restroom and Fuel Service Remain Available At All Travel Plazas

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that restaurant renovations will begin at the following travel plazas operated by HMSHost: the Pattersonville Travel Plaza, located on I-90 westbound between Interchanges 26 (Schenectady, I-890) and 27 (Amsterdam, Route 30), the Plattekill Travel Plaza, located on I-87 northbound between Interchanges 17 (Newburgh, I-84) and 18 (New Paltz), and the New Baltimore Travel Plaza, located on I-87 southbound between Interchanges 21A (Berkshire Section/to Mass Pike) and 21B (Coxsackie).

The project is scheduled to be completed in two phases.

The first phase of the project includes replacing the Bob’s Big Boy Restaurants at all three locations with new food services. The new concepts at the Pattersonville and New Baltimore Travel Plazas will be Famous Famiglia and Quizno’s Subs. The new concepts at the Plattekill Travel Plaza will be Arthur Treacher’s and Brioche Dorée. It is anticipated that the first phase of construction will be completed in February 2008.

The second phase of the renovation project will include upgrades to the Roy Rogers Restaurants at these three travel plazas as well as expanding the gift shop areas. It is anticipated that the second phase of construction will be completed in spring 2008.

During this construction project, limited food services will be available to motorists 24 hours a day at the Pattersonville, Plattekill and New Baltimore travel plazas.
