Thruway Authority Announces Installation and Activation of Higher Speed E-ZPass Lane at Interchange 55 (Lackawanna)
Activation Will Necessitate Brief Lane Closure
The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that the installation and activation of a 20 mph higher speed E-ZPass lane at Interchange 55 (Lackawanna) westbound will take place on Monday, November 26, weather permitting. The installation and activation of this higher speed E-ZPass lane will necessitate the closure of one westbound entry lane at Interchange 55 from 9:30 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Motorist may experiences brief delays.
This 20 mph higher speed E-ZPass lane will join an existing 5 mph E-ZPass entry lane at Interchange 55, in addition to the two E-ZPass exit lanes. The installation will be completed by the Authority’s Buffalo Division Highway Maintenance Crews.
The Thruway Authority’s Buffalo Division will now have 22 higher speed 20 mph E-ZPass lanes located at the following Interchanges:
- 45 (Rochester, Victor, I-490)
- 46 (Rochester, Corning, I-390)
- 47 (Rochester, LeRoy, I-490, Route 19)
- 48 (Batavia, Route 98)
- 48A (Pembroke, Median, Route 77)
- 49 (Depew, Lockport, Route 78)
- 55 (Springville, Orchard Park, US 219, Ridge Road, Lackawanna, West Seneca)
- 56 (Blasdell, Mile Strip Road, Route179)
- 57 (Hamburg, Route 75)
- 58 (Silver Creek, Irving, Route 438)
- 59 (Dunkirk, Fredonia, Route 60)
- 61 (Ripley, Shortman Road)
- North Grand Island Bridge
