THRUWAY AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES LANE CLOSURE NORTHBOUND ON I-190 (NIAGARA THRUWAY), RAMP CLOSURE AT INTERCHANGE 53 (BUFFALO DOWNTOWN/CANADA/I-190)
The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that the right and center lanes northbound near Interchange 1(South Ogden Street) on I-190 (Niagara Thruway) have been temporarily closed due to a tractor trailer rollover. Both the eastbound and westbound Interchange 53 (Buffalo Downtown/Canada/I-190) ramps on I-90 have also been temporarily closed to prevent further delays in the area.
Motorists traveling in the area are currently experiencing an approximate two mile backup.
State Police and emergency crews are on the scene of the rollover and will reopen the right and center lanes, as well as the Interchange 53 ramps, as soon as conditions permit.
The Authority has activated its Highway Advisory Radio to alert motorists of the lane and ramp closures and delays.
The Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this time.
