THRUWAY AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES PAVEMENT REPAIRS SOUTHBOUND NEAR INTERCHANGE 24 (ALBANY I-90 & I-87)
The New York State Thruway Authority announced today that pavement repairs will necessitate the closure of the left and center lanes southbound from milepost 147.5 to milepost 146.7, near Interchange 24 (Albany I-90 & I-87) on Tuesday, December 5, 2006.
Thruway Maintenance crews will be making repairs to the left and center lanes southbound between milepost 147.0 and milepost 146.0 necessitating the left and center lanes be closed from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m..
The Authority will activate its Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) to alert motorists of the lane closures. Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will also be posted in advance of the area to provide motorists with notice of the construction and required lane closures.
Motorists are reminded to remain alert and aware of their surroundings while traveling through the work zone. Motorists should also keep in mind that speeding fines are doubled in work zones.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding while these essential repairs take place.
