The Thruway plays a vital role in the New York State economy and is a critical transportation artery. As such, it is imperative that the Authority's highways and bridge assets remain in good condition to ensure the safe and efficient movement of goods, services and people.
With the economic downturn being seen across the nation, the Authority and other transportation entities have seen a reduction in prices for construction-related materials and the costs associated with a variety of highway and bridge projects. Realizing these savings, the Authority has added projects back into the Capital Program and increased the scope of work for a number of projects that are scheduled to go out to bid in 2010 and 2011. The monthly updates include a current year letting list. For the 2010-2013 Captial Program Project Listing, view the November 2009 monthly updates.
