Green Pass Discount Plan : Offers a special 10% discount to Hybrid vehicles getting at least 45 miles to the gallon and meeting the following emissions standards:

Eligible Vehicle Criteria:

• Vehicles which are certified to the California Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (SULEV) standard and achieve a United State Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) highway fuel economy rating of 45 miles per gallon or more; or
• Pre-model year 2005 hybrid vehicles which are certified to the California Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standard and achieve a USEPA highway fuel economy rating of 45 miles per gallon or more.

The special green tag should be mounted on the windshield of the qualified vehicle and is not eligible for use on other vehicles. To be eligible for the green discount, customers must first have an established E-ZPass account with the New York State Thruway Authority as indicated by the Thruway logo on your tag. This discounted rate will not be available to cash customers. Proof of vehicle registration is required to receive the special 10% discount off of the E-ZPass rate. The Authority began accepting requests for the green discount on April 1, 2006.
