Service Area Mechanic
Grade

Duties
Under general supervision, the employee is responsible for the maintenance and operation of all buildings and Authority-owned equipment at an assigned service area complex; in accordance with established preventive maintenance schedules and standards, periodically checks and services all types of building equipment and systems, performs minor, and occasionally major repairs and adjustments to equipment as required; acts as liaison between the Authority and concessionaires on maintenance matters. Responsible for snow removal and subject for call on a 24-hour basis; may be required to supervise journey-level employees and helpers temporarily assigned to the service area. Employee will need to able to read blueprints to solve maintenance issues that could involve any of the systems and equipment in need of repair.
Qualifications
Must possess a Grade 2A Waste Water Operator certificate issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. (High School graduation or a New York State Equivalency diploma is a basic requirement of obtaining the certificate) and must have four years of experience in the mechanical and/or electrical trades. Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course at an accredited technical institute may be substituted on an appropriate basis.
Salary ranges from $15.00 to $22.00 per hour plus night shift differential and location pay.
Salary includes location pay differential.
Candidate may work one of three shifts: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.; 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.; or 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
